GRIND TIME!

Today has been a good day! My hair finally got done...long overdue and MAN, it was dirty. Locs will do that sometime. Write now, I am writing lyrics to what I think was one of the best beats last year, "A Milli." Although I personally cannot say the same for the lyrics, the beat was SERIOUS!

A few more bars to go...hope I don't fall asleep first.

Maybe next year...

Today is interesting right now because I am typing with some cotton gloves on. My Mom just bought me some for my hand so it will hopefully heal quicker. So far the typing isn't going too bad, although this glove is a little too small.

I am back in the saddle at the gym...sales wise at least. I sold a membership today, so that was definitely a boost. Well I must go now and dry my tears from UCONN. They could have had it....maybe next year. Congrats to the whole Huskie squad, especially assistant couch Andre Lefleur. Have a good night!

Blast from the past...finally!

Yes...the moment has arrived...PIZZATIME! No, that's not improper english you're seeing, that's a catch phrase from one of my favorite super nintendo games, Turtles in Time. I am playing the game, not quite as we speak, but it is on and I have made it to the fourth level. It is crazy now though feeling how it affects your hands! I'm not sure how much longer I can play this tonight. I keep having to pause and stretch my hand muscles! Anyways, today has been a good day. I found my jump drive! This was really huge because not only did I have NO idea where it had gone, but I had a lot of projects I have been working pretty hard on. I had it yesterday afternoon, but somehow between yesterday afternoon and night, it had disappeared on me. I had searched in Conquistador, (our Armada) already, but at my father's additional encouragement, I searched some more and there it was. It must have fallen out of my pocket on the way to work last night.

Speaking of work, today was my first night going to work by myself. It was weird not walking in with my Dad, a dynamic duo; but I had to do what I had to do. The night went well...I think. I will know on Monday really, because they have to do analysis and all that. I won't give that another thought this weekend though...because I have TURTLE POWER!

Changes...

Well my Dad won't be continuing on this project for the scoring of tests, but I choose to look at everyone situation as a blessing. "Why?" Well, for starters, Christ seriously knows what my family and I need every step of the way, and it has certainly been a lift to earn some additional income, not to mention a further boost in self-esteem. Additionally, my Dad and I have shared some good conversation going in to work together. It has been a while since I have worked with him, so it was good to be back in that capacity, earning a wage.

So that time has gone for the time being, but my prayer is that we make the most out of it. Just as God provided the job in the first place that we might be able to meet our obligations and further His kingdom through helping to provide for others; this time off is not to be taken lightly. To paraphrase John Piper, I'll RETIRE when I'm DEAD! I say this because it should be the attitude of every human, but especially the Christian. We cannot work our way to God, yet as beneficiaries of His love and grace, we should want to direct all that we have in some way back to Him. Even in times of unemployment from one job or another, we should desire to use a portion of our time serving Him and His people. (i.e. the least of these)

Well I need to get some rest so I am going to move on. I look forward to see what the day will bring tomorrow.

Moving on...

So today was incredibly easy. I am making progress on a new design, and I hope to unveil it next week. Tomorrow, I will be at the intermediate school. Tonight at work it was so hot in my section, they moved me to the other side where it was really cool...literally! Where I have been these past few weeks got really warm today, and I didn't even have long sleeves on. Well, when it gets really warm for me I start to fall asleep. So the moving really helped...well I need to get on toward bed...I have to make an early morning run.

Real quick post...!

So I really need to get to bed so I don't zonk out during school tomorrow, but I had to give a quick update. There isn't much of one, but I am progressing with my applications and should be done by next week and I am trying to decide if I should stay on blogger. Rory showed me a ton of different layouts that are available on Wordpress, so I don't know if I will switch over. We'll see.

Happy birthday Diana Ross! Ease on down...

Back in the saddle...

The day started off really early because I really did those dishes last night. I put on my headphones and went for it. About an hour later, (it kind of felt like two) I was finished with all of the dishes washed and dried and a pristine, clean stove.

So no assignments came through for substituting today, so I stayed home to take care of business. I did not get as much done as I wanted, but I did accomplish a few things...kind of.

I booked a flight for my Mom. This proved to be quite an ordeal because my Mom wanted particular times for arrival and departure. It took me well over an hour to get that done.

I spoke with Matthew Atkins. Medicine for my heart and spirit. Perhaps I will be able to speak more on that later. All I can say right now is Christ is truly powerful and the Kingdom is UNSTOPPABLE!

Later on, I was going through old e-mails and I saw one from Laurel Brandstetter, good friend and proud owner of Mad Imports. I will dedicate a full post to her later, but I just had to mention right now how good it was to speak with her after at least a year and a half.

I also think I picked up on one thing that needs to happen when I am trying to accomplish goals on the computer...set a cap on the number of tabs that are open. To many leads to a traveling in circles-Luther Vandross style! Got me going in circles...lol.

All in all though, I would have to say that the highlight of the day was me starting to reall work out again. Not just a few push ups, but a full fledged workout! I did abdominals, push-ups and a full dance workout. I am already starting to feel better.

Lose twenty-five pounds by the end of summer...I can and WILL do it!
